If you’ve not seen the The Jeffrey Dahmer Story on Netflix yet, go and watch it! But I must warn you, it’s not for the faint hearted.
The series, starring the amazing Evan Peter, has been the talk of social media since its release, and has had everyone discussing the notorious serious killer.
To give you a rundown of the show, here’s the synopsis:
Across more than a decade, 17 teen boys and young men were murdered by convicted killer Jeffrey Dahmer. How did he evade arrest for so long?
Anyway, since the release, Katy Perry fans have noticed the singer referenced the serial killer in her lyrics, and even though the song is over 10 years old, people are not happy with the reference.
To be fair, people seem to have a point, because referencing a cannibal is pretty dark.
In Perry’s hit song ‘Dark Horse’, she sings:
“She eats your heart out like Jeffrey Dahmer (whoa!).”
Social media users have taken to Twitter to criticise the singer for the lyrics, with one user writing:
It still upsets me when I hear the line in the song Dark Horse “She eats your heart out like Jeffrey Dahmer” and I always make my daughter turn the station. It’s so disrespectful to the victims families. I hope people remember them while watching Netflix. Sorry for their losses.
Probably not the wisest move from Katy Perry.
