Dancing on Ice viewers were left frustrated and disappointed during the second episode of the ITV skating competition, which aired live on Sunday night (January 22).
Viewers took to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the excessive noise from the live audience, with many asking, “have they learnt nothing?” from last week’s complaints.
Last week’s episode of Dancing on Ice saw the first six out of eleven famous faces take to the ice with their professional partners.
The second episode featured the remaining five couples making their debut on the show, including RuPaul’s Drag Race star The Vivienne, who became the first drag queen to compete on the ITV1 skating competition.
Despite the exciting performances and the debut of The Vivienne, the noise from the live audience proved to be a distraction for viewers at home.
“The audience noise is totally ruining this. Have you learnt nothing from last week #DOI #DancingOnIce.”
“Wish the audience would shut up for 5 minutes..no need to woop at every move…distracting #dancingonice.”
“#DancingOnIce studio audience noise is way over the top – unwatchable now!”
“#DancingOnIce has become unwatchable due to the ridiculous constant screeching and hollering from the audience. Just awful.”
“@ITV @dancingonice Please can you stop the audience with their constant whooping and screaming . Its totally ruining the show!!! #dancingonice.”
“#DancingOnIce after years of watching and loving DOI I’m afraid I’m going to have to stop watching, the constant screaming from the audience is too much for my nerves to take.”
The recurring complaints came after host Phillip Schofield had to quieten down the crowd as he and Holly Willoughby tried to open the show. As the pair tried to battle through the noise, Phillip, 60, eventually requested: “You can sit down now.”
Despite the talented performances of the celebrities and their professional partners, the excessive noise from the live audience has left many viewers disappointed and frustrated.
It remains to be seen if the producers of Dancing on Ice will take action to address this issue, but for now, it seems that many fans are choosing to stop watching the show.
