Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, a star from the popular dating show “Love Island,” has recently opened up about the devastating impact of the recent earthquakes in Turkey on her family.
In a recent interview with Sky News, Ekin-Su shared that some of her loved ones have been sleeping outside after the earthquakes and that it has been a terrifying experience for her.
She said, “I have members of my family who have obviously experienced the shake. They’ve been outside, they’ve been sleeping outside. It’s scary because it’s people who are very close to me.”
The earthquakes, which struck the region near the Syrian border and central Turkey, have resulted in a staggering loss of life and injury.
Estimates suggest that over 12,000 people have lost their lives, and over 30,000 have been injured in both Turkey and Syria. In light of these devastating events, Ekin-Su has been using her platform to raise awareness and encourage support for relief efforts.
Ekin-Su also spoke about the outpouring of support she has received from followers on social media. People have reached out to her, sending pictures and locations, in an attempt to get help.
The star said, “I’ve had people on Instagram reach out to me. They’ve sent me locations and addresses, pictures live. It’s just like they are screaming for help, and I want to use my platform as much as I can to help anyone out there from Syria and Turkey.”
Ekin-Su’s efforts to raise awareness and support for those affected by the earthquakes have been met with overwhelming support from her fellow “Love Island” cast members and friends.
Former “Love Island” presenter Laura Whitmore, along with cast members Georgia Harrison and Luca Bish, have also joined forces to lend their support to Ekin-Su’s relief campaign.
