Love Island star Olivia Hawkins has finally come clean about her reaction to Kai’s recoupling and has given an explanation for her actions during Movie Night.
Olivia, who was recently eliminated from the villa with her new partner Maxwell Samuda, had a meltdown when she discovered that Kai had coupled up with Sanam Harrinanan, even though she had already moved on herself.
Returning to the main villa, Olivia confronted Kai and stated, “It’s very telling, it’s very telling. I can’t say I’m shocked. Missing me already? Clearly not enough, his loss, my gain.”
During her first interview with Maxwell on Aftersun, Olivia admitted, “Let me just say, I’ve watched that clip back and I put my hands up: I’m such a hypocrite. In the moment, it’s so intense. Emotions are high. There were real feelings there. So when I walked through those doors, I was so nervous to come back with Maxwell. I’m just happy that me and Kai have sorted it all out.”
Olivia also talked to Maya Jama about the explosive Movie Night, where her true colors were exposed. In Liv Actually, a clip of her forgetting Kai’s name and talking badly about the other girls shocked the other Islanders.
Olivia explained, “Early days. I forgot his name, Kai. No, because it’s like new scenery.”
She also made comments to Max about Claudia forgiving Casey too quickly for kissing other girls during Casa Amor.
Despite the criticism she faced, Olivia stood her ground and said, “No, because it’s nothing I wouldn’t say. If you’ve got any questions, come to me after.”
Fans of Love Island had dubbed Olivia the show’s ‘villain,’ and they were quick to speculate that she would break up with Maxwell as soon as they left the villa.
However, Olivia claimed that she was true to herself throughout the show and had already discussed her concerns with her co-stars before Movie Night occurred.
“On Movie Night, none of the girls reacted because I told them previously that day that I thought they forgave the boys way too quickly. I wouldn’t do anything differently. I feel like I stayed true to myself all the way through,” she explained.
Olivia and Maxwell were eliminated from the show after receiving the news that they were heading home on Wednesday night.
Viewers are now eagerly waiting to see how long the couple will stay together before breaking up.
