Love Island’s Samie Elishi Breaks Down as she Talks Tom Split and Health Scare

Love Island star Samie Elishi has recently shared an emotional YouTube video, discussing her breakup with Tom Clare and a recent cancer scare.

The 22-year-old reality star, who appeared on the most recent series of Love Island, filmed the 17-minute video from the passenger seat of her car.

In the video, Samie shared her personal experience and explained why she decided to share her story with her fans.

Samie began by addressing her split with Tom, saying, “It is intense. Me and Tom have broken up. It’s ended on good terms. No one’s done anything bad to each other, there’s still lots and lots of love there. It just wasn’t working on the outside, and we both agreed on the majority of the things.”

She went on to say that there is no bad blood between them, and that she would never say a bad word about him and he wouldn’t about her.

Samie continued, “We just weren’t working on the outside. I feel like when you come out of the villa, you’ve got so much pressure and so many other things to worry about that plays a huge factor in a relationship. It was just a lot more difficult to maintain outside of the villa.”

She also shared that she was going through “personal stuff” at the time of the breakup, which led to a cancer scare.

Samie revealed that she had discovered a 5cm lump on her thyroid during a dinner with fellow Love Island contestants Millie Court and Chloe Aromolaran in the days following the breakup.

She shared that medical professionals graded her lump a “grade 3,” which means they can’t tell for sure if it’s cancerous or not, and it’s a “grey area.”

As a result of the lump, the Love Island bombshell is going for surgery to have half of her thyroid removed.

Starting to cry, Samie said, “Basically what they do is they cut your neck… I shouldn’t be upset because I’m so grateful that people messaged, and I’ve caught it now. I’m so grateful. But it is still obviously really scary. I’m a young girl, I’m realising how common it is now. I even saw Demi Jones went through it.”

Samie shared that she had not wanted to post a statement on her Instagram story right away because she was going through personal issues.

She said, “I thought me and Tom were going to live happily ever after, but life happens.”

In the emotional video, Samie thanked her fans for their support and urged them to take their health seriously.

“Please don’t take your health for granted. Please don’t leave anything that’s worrying you, because it’s not worth it. I just want to say thank you so much for everyone who’s messaged me, who’s asked me how I am, who’s just been there for me. I’m so grateful.”
