Loose Women showered Ant McPartlin with congratulations on his baby news during Wednesday’s episode.
The 48-year-old Ant and his wife Anne-Marie, 46, welcomed their first child on Tuesday, 14 May. The joyous couple, who exchanged vows in 2021, revealed their delightful news on Instagram, opting not to publicly announce their pregnancy beforehand.
Anne-Marie gave birth to a baby boy, and the proud parents shared a heartwarming black-and-white photo of Ant cradling their newborn son. In the caption, they proudly introduced their bundle of joy, Wilder Patrick McPartlin, born on 14/05/24 at 8.54 am, expressing their admiration for their beautiful baby, Anne-Marie’s strength, and their daughters’ excitement while acknowledging Ant’s emotional state, humorously noting, “Dad’s a mess.”
During Wednesday’s Loose Women, panelists Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan, Linda Robson, and Gloria Hunniford extended their warm wishes to Ant before delving into a segment titled “Are men just as broody as women?”
Christine, 45, remarked, “Ant has always said he wanted to be a dad and very open about it, you cannot take away from the fact a lot of men just want to be daddies and they’re broody and they’re proud.”
To which Gloria, 84, responded, “I think we’re all very happy, particularly for Ant, because he made no secret of the fact he wanted a child and his wife, the lovely lady who has now given birth to this lovely boy, she had two little girls. So maybe as he was helping to raise those children, he suddenly thought even more: ‘I’d really like one of my own’.”
However, Gloria offered a humorous observation about the name Wilder, suggesting it might take on new significance during his teenage years. Christine countered with the possibility that the name might be fitting.
Ant’s former personal assistant Anne-Marie already has two children from a previous relationship, but now she and Ant have become parents together. After Ant’s celebratory post on Tuesday, his celebrity friends flooded his Instagram with congratulations.
Fellow TV presenter Davina McCall exclaimed, “Arggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!! This is AMAZING !!!! Congratulations to ALL of you.” First Dates star Fred Sirieix added, “Congrats.” Ashley Banjo and Joel Dommett also chimed in with their well wishes.
One fan expressed, “I’ve never been so happy for someone I’ve never met.
