Jeremy Clarkson’s brutal dig at ‘hideous’ Piers Morgan after Baby Reindeer interview

Jeremy Clarkson recently waded into the controversy surrounding Netflix’s Baby Reindeer and Piers Morgan’s interview with the woman claiming to be the inspiration behind Martha, risking reigniting their famous feud.

In a characteristic dig at Morgan, Clarkson, in his column for The Sun, remarked, “Despite his hideous and unloved face, I watched Piers Morgan interview the lady who’s been outed as the real-life stalker in this supposedly true story.”

He continued, “And then I watched the stalkee, Richard Gadd put his side of the story in a month-old interview on This Morning. One of them is telling the truth. And one of them is therefore lying. And I’m buggered if I can work out which way round it goes. I’d be a terrible judge.”

Morgan’s interview with Scottish lawyer Fiona Harvey aired earlier this month, where she vehemently denied stalking Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gadd, dismissing the show as “a work of fiction” and “hyperbole.”

Harvey also announced her plans to sue both the actor and Netflix over what she perceived as “defamatory” content in the dramatised series, revealing she had received death threats from “internet sleuths” and felt “forced” to present her side of the story.

In response to mounting speculation, Gadd previously urged fans to refrain from speculating about the real-life counterparts portrayed in the show, emphasising that speculation wasn’t the purpose of the series.

Elsewhere in his column, Clarkson teased Morgan about winning the title of UK’s Sexiest Man for the second year in a row, leaving Morgan trailing in 40th place. This playful jab is just the latest in a long-standing feud between the two, which dates back to the early 2000s, involving published photographs and even a punch at the 2004 Press Awards. Despite their past tensions, they have since reconciled, even joking about the altercation on a celebrity edition of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
