MAFS Australia’s Domenica shares health update amid social media break

Married at First Sight Australia alum Domenica Calarco has provided an update on her health via Instagram amidst her break from social media.

The reality star, who featured in the 2022 season of the show, recently deactivated her Instagram and TikTok accounts, citing mental health challenges and a decision to take a hiatus at a wellness retreat.

Domenica took to her Instagram Stories to share a new message, expressing gratitude for the support she’s received. “Hey everyone, it’s been a while since we last spoke!” she began. “I wanted to reach out and update you on why I’ve been offline recently.

“Over the past few weeks, I’ve been focusing on my mental health and seeking the help I need in a specialized mental health facility. It hasn’t been an easy decision, but I know it’s the right one for my wellbeing.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your ongoing love and support,” Domenica continued.

“I’ve been receiving your messages and encouragement through Ella and my mum, and they mean the absolute world to me. Your positivity and love are truly helping me heal during this challenging time.

“Please know that I’m taking the necessary steps to prioritize my mental health, and I’m looking forward to returning to social media when I’m ready. In the meantime, I task for your continued understanding and support.

“Thank you again for being such an incredible community. Your kindness does not go unnoticed, and I am endlessly grateful. Love & light, Dom xx.”

In her previous statement, Domenica shared that she had been “struggling with some deep issues” that had left her feeling “emotionally, physically, and psychologically drained”.

Domenica and her MAFS co-star Ella Ding recently faced criticism after interviewing contestant Jack Dunkley on their podcast.

Jack had faced scrutiny on MAFS for his behaviour, particularly comments directed at co-star Jonathan McCullough regarding his wife Lauren Dunn.

Following the backlash, Domenica and Ella issued an apology, acknowledging that “people are upset because it potentially had shown that we weren’t supportive of women because we platformed him and that was never what we wanted to be putting across”.
