Woman Arrested Over Matthew Perry’s Death Had A Nickname For Him

The woman dubbed the “Ketamine Queen,” who has been charged in connection with the overdose death of Matthew Perry, reportedly often referred to the actor by his iconic television character, “Chandler.”

This detail about Jasveen Sangha, the alleged drug dealer, surfaced as part of a plea agreement involving Perry’s friend, Erik Fleming. Fleming pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution of ketamine resulting in death. Fleming, Sangha, and three others were charged in relation to Perry’s death in October 2023.

According to reports, Sangha’s nickname for Perry was first revealed by Page Six, citing documents from prosecutors. These documents indicated that she “used a name of a well-known character that [Perry] portrayed in a television series.”

Sangha has not yet entered a plea to the charges against her. The documents did not explicitly identify the sitcom character she allegedly used to refer to Perry, but it is widely assumed to be “Chandler.”

Other individuals charged in connection with Perry’s death include his personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who has already pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute the ketamine that led to Perry’s overdose. Iwamasa also confessed to injecting Perry with ketamine on the day of his death.

Two doctors, Mark Chavez and Salvador Plascencia, are also facing charges. Chavez has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute, while Plascencia has not yet reached a plea agreement. Prosecutors claim that Sangha wasn’t the only one referring to Perry in their communications; the two doctors are also accused of mocking the actor in text messages, allegedly questioning “how much this moron will pay” for ketamine and adding, “Let’s find out.”

Sangha, who has attracted significant media attention following her arrest, was particularly noted for her alleged nickname “Ketamine Queen” and her social media presence. She was reportedly well-known in North Hollywood as a supplier to celebrities and frequently flaunted her extravagant lifestyle—allegedly funded by drug dealing—on Instagram, where she shared images from luxury vacations in Mexico and Japan.

She faces multiple charges, including conspiracy to distribute ketamine, maintaining a drug-involved premises, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute ketamine, and five counts of ketamine distribution.

Just hours before her August 15 arrest in Los Angeles, Sangha was posting on social media about her new haircut and colour.

The alleged dealer to the rich and famous often shared photos of herself adorned in Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry, Louis Vuitton sneakers, and Chanel clothing, as well as images of her enjoying caviar in private jet lounges at LAX.

The 41-year-old, who holds dual U.S. and British citizenship, also hosted lavish parties for her friends in Hollywood and frequently proclaimed that “family is everything.”

In February 2024, four months after Perry’s death, Sangha posted selfies while relaxing on a trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where she flaunted her beachfront residence and enjoyed cocktails by the pool.

She also frequently boasted about her health and wellness routines, including using IV drips after late-night partying and promoting “sound healing,” which she described as “absolutely uplifting and cleansing for the heart and soul.”

Just two weeks after Perry’s ketamine-related death, Sangha traveled to Tokyo, where she enjoyed lychee martinis at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, where suites cost $1,847 per night.
