Married at First Sight UK fans were left stunned when groom Adam Aveling failed to offer any compliments to his bride, Polly Sellman, during their first meeting at the altar.
In the episode that aired on E4 on Thursday (September 19), 33-year-old Adam eagerly awaited his wedding to 28-year-old Polly. While Polly made a striking entrance, Adam refrained from offering any praise. Polly, a careers advisor, didn’t hesitate to gush about Adam’s “very attractive” appearance, admiring his “beefy” physique and “nice haircut.” She even confessed, “I do fancy him,” but the feeling didn’t seem mutual.
Adam later revealed to the cameras, “The initial attraction’s not 100 percent there. She’s not my usual type. 10 out of 10 for me would be petite, brunette, dark features, tan. She’s not what I expected.”
Polly’s best friend, Alfie, quickly noticed Adam’s lack of compliments and confronted him, according to OK!. Adam downplayed the situation, admitting that although Polly wasn’t his usual brunette type, he did appreciate her “bubbly personality.”
