Married At First Sight’s George Roberts has finally broken his silence after being arrested on suspicion of “controlling and coercive behaviour”.
The 40-year-old updated his Instagram followers on the situation and thanked his supporters:
The financial advisor wrote:
“Justice and judgement lie often a world apart.”
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the messages of support. I appreciate you ALL. #Bekind.”
During the reality show, Roberts was paired by experts with former Ms Great Britain April Banbury.
The pair immediately hit it off and went ahead with the wedding.

It was then reported that three of George’s exes warned police about alleged abusive behaviour.
According to The Sun, one of George’s exes said:
I’m so shocked to see he has been given a platform on a TV show. I messaged Married at First Sight. I said I reported him to the police.
They asked for additional information which I gave and I never heard anything further.
Another said:
I contacted Married at First Sight, E4 and All4 and the producers to tell them he was a known emotional and mental abuser of women.
I sent everything I had. They said they would be looking into it.
A third ex of George’s also made similar claims against him.
The father-of-four denied all allegations made.
A representative of George released the following statement:
George categorically denies these allegations.
As a father of daughters he finds these accusations deeply upsetting and does not condone abuse nor behaves in that way.
These allegations were never brought to his attention, investigated or taken further by the police for good reason as they are simply not true.
The Mirror contacted Channel 4 for a comment on the situation.
A spokesperson for the show said:
“We work incredibly closely with our production partners to ensure all Married at First Sight UK contributors are subject to rigorous background and psychological checks, including the most detailed police checks a production is able to undertake.
“Any allegations of this nature are taken extremely seriously by Channel 4.”
It then emerged that George has been arrested on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour following the allegations.
The met police said:
“A 40-year-old man was arrested in Worcestershire on Thursday, September 29, on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour.
“He was taken to a police station and bailed pending further enquiries.”
Let’s see what is next for George…
