Love Island contestant Martin Akinola has spilled some unaired drama that went down during the latest recoupling on the ITV2 show.
Martin, who was eliminated from the competition and the villa when Tanya Manhenga chose her former partner Shaq Muhammed over him, shared a conversation he had with Claudia Fogarty about her relationship with Casey O’Gorman.
During an appearance on spin-off show Love Island: Aftersun, Martin revealed that he predicted that Casey would be attracted to one of the bombshells who would enter the villa.
“She asked me what I think of her and Casey and I told her I see more friendship vibes with them. I don’t see the sexual chemistry,” Martin said.
He also revealed that Claudia told Casey about her conversation with him, and Casey admitted that he could potentially have his head turned by one of the bombshells. “I pulled Casey [for a chat] and was like, ‘Yeah, I said it’, and he was like, ‘You know what? You’re right, I agree with you,” Martin recalled.
As expected, Claudia did not take Casey’s new romance with bombshell Rosie Seabrook well. She got emotional once Rosie announced her decision to recouple with Casey, a move that left her in tears as her friends rallied behind her.
The situation became tenser during a game of ‘Snog, Marry, Pie,’ in which Casey confirmed he’d like to pursue his connection with Rosie, calling it quits with Claudia – for now, at least.
While Love Island fans were already aware of Claudia and Casey’s fallout, Martin’s revelation provided more insight into the situation. His comments also garnered reactions on social media, with fans expressing their support for Claudia and criticising Casey’s behaviour.
One Twitter user wrote, “Why would Casey throw away what he had with Claudia for someone he doesn’t even know? Poor Claudia,” while another added, “I feel so sorry for Claudia. Casey didn’t even have the decency to tell her that he was leaving her. He let her find out in front of everyone.”
Despite the drama, Love Island continues to captivate viewers, with many eagerly awaiting the next episode to see how things will unfold.
