Paige Thorne, the former Love Island star, has opened up about her latest relationship, admitting that “it’s not looking good” and that “he’s not ready” to settle down.
The 24-year-old, who shot to fame on the summer version of Love Island in 2022, is rumoured to be dating Swansea City footballer Liam Cullen, 23. She recently got candid about the progress of the rumoured relationship at the Child of Wales Awards on 24 March.
Wearing a powder blue satin gown that resembled Disney princess Cinderella, Paige appeared at the event looking stunning. She wore a fitted bodice, swathes of luxurious material, and a daring thigh split.
Her glossy dark hair cascaded down her back, and she wore fluttering black lashes, heavy liquid eyeliner, and a slick of gloss on her lips.
Paige said, “It’s not looking good. I know exactly what I want, and I actually think I’ve already met my future husband, but he’s just not ready to settle down yet. I’m not in the headspace to deal with anybody, really.” When asked if her current love interest is indeed the Swansea FC football player, Paige said, “I can’t say anymore. But let’s just say I’m focusing on myself at the minute.”
Despite the apparent disappointment with her current relationship, Paige gushed about some of her former Love Island co-stars, admitting that she is closest to her “number one girl,” Danica Taylor, whom she “loves” and is planning a holiday with.
Paige also revealed that she still works as a paramedic in Swansea, which was her job before she went on Love Island.
Paige admitted that she didn’t tune into this year’s series of Love Island, saying, “I didn’t watch the last series. I never used to watch the winter Love Islands anyway, so this year I was like, ‘Am I going to put it on?’ But I felt like I’d have FOMO, so I caught up a lot of it on social media, just because I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had time to sit and watch it.”
The star also revealed that she is still working as a paramedic, and she is trying to balance her job with attending events, enjoying her social life, and going to London for events. Speaking about attending the Child of Wales Awards, Paige said, “I’m excited, and I’m very honored to be here. When I was asked to give out one of the awards, it was an immediate yes. When I read the story of Summer Kansiray, I was blown away.”
Paige’s honesty about the current state of her relationship is refreshing, and her dedication to focusing on herself and her career is admirable.
It’s clear that she is not willing to settle for anything less than what she wants, and that’s a mindset that we can all learn from.
