Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has spoken out about his former co-star Gino D’Acampo after he announced his departure from their show, Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip, last month.
During an interview with the Big Fish podcast hosted by Spencer Matthews, Ramsay didn’t hold back when sharing his thoughts on D’Acampo and fellow co-star Fred Sirieix.
Ramsay, who is known for his sharp tongue and explicit language, described D’Acampo and Sirieix as “incredible pain in the a**es,” but emphasized that he still loves them. He revealed that while they get along well, both D’Acampo and Sirieix are pretty high maintenance on the road.
“We do get on, but three or four days in it’s like, ‘Move over, I want more room in the bed’, or, ‘Can we have a break?’ They don’t work hard,” Ramsay said. He went on to double down on his insults towards D’Acampo, branding his pizzas as “sh*t” and accusing him of wearing platform shoes to make himself look taller…
“He knows that my pizzas are better than his pizzas. My dough is fresh, it’s proven. He knows when he bites into my pizza that it’s better than his,” Ramsay said. “He’ll never admit it, but any guy that wears f***ing platforms in his shoes, and every year he gets taller, is never, ever going to decide that his pizzas are better than mine.”
Ramsay even took a selfie with D’Acampo while in Spain and noticed that he was taller than Sirieix.
Upon inspection of D’Acampo’s shoes, Ramsay discovered that they had four platforms in them, making them like “a pair of stilettos inside his Gucci loafers.” Ramsay didn’t mince his words when he called D’Acampo a “kn*b” for wearing them.
D’Acampo had announced his departure from Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip, citing contract complications and his desire to prioritize his friendship with Ramsay and Sirieix over any potential arguments.
Fans of the show were left disappointed with the news that they wouldn’t see the trio together again, but Ramsay’s comments may provide some insight into what it’s really like when they’re on the road.
Despite the insults and complaints, Ramsay made it clear that he still cares for D’Acampo and Sirieix.
His comments may come across as harsh, but it’s clear that they share a bond that goes beyond their on-screen personas.
