Kady McDermott allegedly shared a farewell dinner with her secret boyfriend before her surprising return to Love Island, despite entering the show as a single contestant.
The Sun recently disclosed that Kady has been in a relationship with Liam Greer for over a year.
Prior to her departure for Mallorca, where Love Island is filmed, Kady and Liam had a romantic evening together.
An insider revealed to The Sun, “Kady and Liam went for a posh dinner in Mayfair together the night before she left for Love Island, like a romantic goodbye.”
The couple had previously enjoyed a luxurious Valentine’s getaway at London’s 5-star Bvlgari Hotel in February 2022. During this time, Liam was under police investigation due to a substantial sum of money, approximately £300,000, being deposited into his bank account within a week. Detectives are still attempting to trace the source of these funds.
In spite of the ongoing investigation, Kady and Liam embarked on a lavish trip to the Maldives the following month, March 2022.
They were also spotted together on vacation in Ibiza in September of that year. However, Liam was subsequently charged with acquiring criminal property and admitted to money laundering, amounting to £359,700, during a court appearance on April 20, 2023.
Neighbours have reported seeing Liam frequently with Kady in recent weeks, engaging in activities such as going to the gym, shopping together, and walking Kady’s dog.
He was observed coming and going from her renovated Hertfordshire bungalow the week before Kady’s arrival on Love Island on June 22.
When approached by The Sun for comment on his relationship with Kady, Liam responded, “I’ve got nothing to say about that.” Kady’s representative did not provide a response to the claims regarding the farewell dinner.
An ITV spokesperson stated, “Kady was single at the time of entering the Villa,” attempting to clarify the situation.
Liam Greer, a father of three, runs an electric bike company that the police believe is unrelated to the alleged money-laundering activities. Earlier this year, he was ordered to forfeit £21,938.02 of the frozen funds held in his name during a hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court on March 3, 2022.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed the conviction, stating, “Liam Greer, 30, from Watford, Herts, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing at Harrow Crown Court to laundering £359,700. He will be sentenced at the same court on Friday, July 7. The conviction follows an investigation by officers from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime.”
Kady McDermott rose to fame as a makeup artist and finished in third place on Love Island’s second series in 2016, alongside Scott Thomas, brother of soap stars Adam and Ryan.
She previously dated Myles Barnett from Made in Chelsea for three years, and the couple jointly purchased the Hertfordshire property before parting ways in 2021. Kady briefly dated Premier League footballer Matty Cash, who plays as a right-back for Aston Villa and Poland.
On Love Island, Kady has coupled up with Zachariah Noble, a contestant who bears a striking resemblance to her boyfriend Liam, sporting hand tattoos and a similar haircut. Despite stealing Zachariah from Molly Marsh, Kady has consistently rejected his advances, including a kiss on the well-known terrace.
