MAFS Jack Dunley explains ‘wind emoji’ meaning after fans were left baffled

The mysterious “wind emoji” text that stirred confusion among Married at First Sight Australia fans has finally been decoded. Jack Dunley, along with his on-screen wife Tori Adams, believed they shared a strong bond on the E4 experiment, despite one notable absence in their marriage – intimacy. Despite claiming mutual attraction, the couple hadn’t consummated their marriage even weeks later.

However, during the latest dinner party, they revealed that they had finally “consummated” their marriage, following the group’s participation in home stays week, which ended with what producers described as a bang.

Jack immediately messaged fellow groom Ridge about the news, as “lads do.” However, it was the subsequent “wind emoji” in the message that raised eyebrows among the group. Ridge admitted, “When Jack messaged me, he sent the wind emoji, and I wasn’t too sure what it meant.”

Lauren speculated that it symbolized a “ghost,” suggesting Jack might be planning to leave Tori. She interpreted it as a “smoke bomb emoji” indicating an exit strategy. Alternatively, she jokingly suggested it could mean someone farted.

Jack clarified the meaning behind the emoji during a chat with 9Entertainment, explaining that it was a playful gesture between friends. “The wind emoji for me was kind of like smoke, like ‘damn that was hot,’ like ‘pop off,’ a bit of smoke, you know,” he elaborated. “A bit of relief, a bit of smoke – I didn’t know if I was going to send him a flame. It was basically smoke, like ‘damn that was hot.'”

Meanwhile, Tori faced a challenging time during a visit to Jack’s friends on the Gold Coast. His female clients from the gym, whom he introduced as friends, grilled the bride about her choice of companions. One friend even insinuated suspicion regarding Tori’s male friends, suggesting it meant she “sleeps around with them all.” Jack, reveling in Tori bearing the brunt for once, left the group stunned with controversial comments and behavior throughout the experiment, such as telling Lauren’s husband to “put a muzzle” on his wife and making insensitive remarks about people’s appearances.
