How to watch ‘real life Martha’ from Baby Reindeer in talk show tonight

The woman known as the ‘real-life Martha’ from “Baby Reindeer” has made her inaugural talk show appearance.

In the Netflix series, comedian Richard Gadd portrays a fictionalised version of himself, facing harassment from a character named Martha while working at a pub.

Following the show’s release, fans immediately embarked on efforts to identify real-life inspirations behind its characters. Unfortunately, this fervour led to misguided attempts to track down individuals like Martha and Darrien, resulting in wrongful accusations and necessitating police intervention.

Richard Gadd, the creator of “Baby Reindeer,” felt compelled to caution against speculation regarding the real-life identities of characters depicted in the show.

Legal experts highlighted the potential legal and ethical consequences of fans’ attempts to identify people associated with the series.

Now, the woman identified as the ‘real-life Martha’ has engaged in an episode of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” seeking to share her perspective.

However, following the interview, Fiona Harvey expressed feeling manipulated by Piers Morgan’s questioning, asserting that he disregarded her viewpoint and aimed to catch her off guard.

The interview is scheduled for airing tonight (May 9) on YouTube via the Piers Morgan Uncensored account, streaming live at 8:00 pm UK time and 3:00 pm ET in the US.

In “Baby Reindeer,” Richard Gadd claims the storyline is based on real events, leaving viewers to question the veracity of certain aspects.

The character of Donny’s initial encounter with Martha, offering her a free drink, mirrors a true event according to Gadd, which escalated unexpectedly.

Gadd details the overwhelming volume of correspondence received from the stalker, both in the series and in reality, including emails, voicemails, tweets, and letters, along with peculiar gifts.

While the show depicts every email from Martha as being sent from an iPhone, contrary to reality, Gadd emphasises the delayed response from authorities to reports of stalking.

He acknowledges alterations made to protect identities but remains uncertain about the real-life outcome for Martha.

While Martha receives a prison sentence in “Baby Reindeer,” Harvey asserts she has never been incarcerated, adding complexity to the distinction between fact and fiction in the series.
