MAFS Australia’s Timothy exposes editing errors after confirming friendship with ’slimy’ Jonathan

Married At First Sight Australia star Timothy Smith, 51, has addressed editing discrepancies on the show and shed light on his surprising friendship with Jonathan McCullough, 40.

Fans were initially puzzled when Timothy and Jono were seen spending time together outside the experiment, especially after a heated argument aired where Timothy appeared to label Jono as ‘slimy.’

However, Timothy has clarified that his remark was directed at Jack Dunkley, 34, not Jono. In a TikTok video shared on their joint account, Jono and Timothy addressed fans’ questions about their unexpected bond.

Jono began by questioning Timothy about the ‘slimy’ comment, to which Timothy responded, “Well actually, I didn’t actually say it about Jono. I actually said it about Jack that night.” Jono then joked about the editing process, suggesting he could manipulate footage similarly based on his TikTok knowledge.

This isn’t the first time editing discrepancies have been highlighted on MAFS Australia. Following a dramatic reunion, Ellie Dix clarified a scene where she appeared to swear at Lauren. She explained that her outburst was actually directed at Sara, not Lauren, due to a late-night argument.

Similarly, Cassandra Allen’s confrontation with Sara Mesa during the final commitment ceremony raised eyebrows among viewers. Jono revealed on the Sit With Us podcast that a significant fallout between the two women occurred off-camera, where Cass confronted Sara about her behaviour. Despite this, the confrontation was not aired, leaving viewers puzzled by the sudden animosity between the two.
