Prince Harry Became Emotional During Procession for Queen Elizabeth II

Prince Harry became emotional during the procession for the late Queen Elizabeth II on September 14.

The Queen passed away on September 8 2022 at the age of 96. She was the UK’s longest reigning monarch and the second longest reigning monarch in history.

Following her death, the royal family have had many ceremonies and protocols to follow.

Her coffin was moved from Buckingham Palace where it had previously been brought down from Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where she had been staying at the time of her death.

A procession was held as the coffin was moved into Westminster Hall yesterday, where it will remain until the early hours of Monday 19 September before being moved again for her funeral.

The royal family had walked behind the coffin during a procession held yesterday to honour her.

Thousands of members of the public queued to catch a glimpse of the late Queen.

Behind her procession, walked the new King Charles III who has now taken over the throne, as well as her three other children – Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and Prince Edward.

Behind them walked the late monarch’s grandchildren – Prince William, now second in line to the throne following his father, King Charles III – and Prince Harry.

The younger Prince, having stepped down as a senior member of the royal family and no longer performing royal duties, was not in the royal dress, like his brother.

The coffin was then taken into Westminster Hall where it will Lay-in-State until the early morning of her funeral on Monday 19 September.

The royals then went in to pay their respects to their late mother and grandmother.

Prince Harry, who was of course very fond of his beloved grandmother, could be seen getting visibly upset at the sight of her coffin.

When walking, his wife – Meghan Markle the Duchess of Sussex, held his hand as a show of comfort and support for her husband.

Many online have become outraged at this as holding hands is against royal protocol and is not something we normally see.

However, considering the Sussexxes renounced their royal duties, this is up for debate…
