Stephen Mulhern finally breaks his silence on Josie Gibson romance rumours in awkward grilling on This Morning

Stephen Mulhern found himself in the hot seat regarding his rumoured romance with Josie Gibson during a segment on This Morning on Tuesday.

The 47-year-old TV personality sparked speculation after he was spotted holding hands with the 39-year-old former Big Brother star backstage at Saturday Night Takeaway last month.

Despite neither confirming nor denying the rumours, hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard decided to delve into the topic during Mulhern’s latest interview.

While discussing his book, “Max Magic,” Mulhern was caught in the crosshairs when Ben jokingly remarked on his relaxed demeanour, insinuating he was comfortable because he was “with one of our own.”

Laughing off the comment from a massage table, Mulhern retorted, “shut his face” before the show cut to an ad break.

Later in the interview, Cat and Ben revisited the topic, prompting Mulhern to address the rumours head-on. “Listen, she didn’t turn up to rehearsals, I held her hand and I showed her where to stand. That is it. Finito!,” he asserted.

But the hosts continued to tease, with Cat playfully prodding, “Uh-huh, really. Your lips are sealed?” while Ben quipped, “Me thinks he protest too much.”

As Mulhern blushed, he exclaimed, “Why are you doing this to me?! Unbelievable!”

Josie, on the other hand, had a light-hearted response to the speculation, jokingly telling MailOnline, “I’m in love with Stephen Mulhern. There you go. But story of my life, I don’t think he loves me.”

Clarifying her stance on relationships, Josie revealed she only kisses or commits to someone she truly loves, which typically happens once every seven or eight years.

Reflecting on her past relationships, Josie confessed her fear of heartbreak, stating, “I just can’t have my heart broken again like I just can’t do it.”

Despite her high-profile romances, including with Big Brother beau John James Parton and ex-fiancé Luke Sanwo, Josie maintains a single status. She prioritises her son Reggie, five, whom she co-parents with ex-partner Terry, over pursuing new relationships.

With her busy TV career and parenting duties, Josie is content focusing on her family and career for now, ruling out romance until the time is right.
