Actress Jennifer Lawrence has finally shared her baby son’s name, who is now six months old.
The 32-year-old ‘Don’t Look Up’ actress welcomed her first child into the world with her art gallery director husband, Cooke Maroney.
In a cover story interview with Vogue, for the October 2022 issue, Lawrence shared that her son is named Cy, after her husband’s favorite artist, Cy Twombly.
The ‘Passengers’ actress told the publication how she felt upon seeing her baby for the first time:
“I just stared. I was just so in love.”
“Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about.”
The superstar added:
“I remember walking with one of my best friends at, like, nine months, and being like, ‘Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?’”
The new mum also dropped the bombshell that she had in fact been pregnant before giving birth to her first child. That pregnancy had unfortunately ended in a miscarriage that she had to receive a medical D&C for.
The new parents got engaged back in February 2019 and wed October of the same year in Rhode Island.
They welcomed baby Cy in February 2022 – three years after they got engaged.
The Kentucky-born actress admitted that she may approach her professional life differently now that she is a mum. She told Vogue:
“I have had a pretty consistent theme in all my movies since I was 18. I’m curious if, now that I’m older and I have a baby, I’ll finally break out of that.”
She also explained to the publication her and her husbands reasoning for why they kept their child’s name private for so long:
“Every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can.”
