Love Island’s Anton reveals real reason he and Georgia broke up – and it wasn’t the long distance

Love Island’s Anton Danyluk has opened up about the true reasons behind his breakup with villa girlfriend Georgia Harrison.

The pair found love on the inaugural series of Love Island: All Stars, a platform for former islanders to rekindle romance. Despite making it to fifth place in February, they parted ways last month, with initial reports citing the challenge of a long-distance relationship as the cause.

However, Anton refuted this explanation on his podcast, “What’s the Crack,” co-hosted by his mother, Sherie. He expressed a desire for fans to hear the truth “from the horse’s mouth,” clarifying, “In the press, a source said the distance was the issue, now we were in London every other week so I don’t think distance was the issue.”

Their attempts to sustain their connection post-villa ultimately faltered, leading to the realisation that their relationship had evolved into a strong friendship. Sherie concurred, noting that while the pair did spend considerable time together after the show, it became evident that their bond was primarily platonic.

With 1.1 million Instagram followers, Anton acknowledged the lack of a romantic spark between them. Despite their efforts and occasional sparks, it wasn’t sufficient to sustain a romantic relationship.

Anton rose to fame in 2019 on Love Island’s fifth series, where he coupled up with Belle Hassan, though their romance didn’t endure. Meanwhile, Georgia made her mark on the show’s third series in 2017, entering as a bombshell but exiting shortly after with Sam Gowland.
