Coronation Day Landing on Archie’s Birthday ‘Not a Swipe at Harry’, According to Royal Expert

According to royal expert Duncan Larcombe, the coronation of King Charles III landing on Archie’s birthday is ‘not a swipe at Harry’.

The Queen passed away on September 8 2022 at the age of 96. She was the UK’s longest reigning monarch and the second longest reigning monarch in history.

Following her death, the then Prince Charles automatically became King. His official coronation ceremony will take place 6 May 2023, the same day that his son’s child turns four.

Considering the Prince has stepped down as a senior member of the royal family and no longer performs royal duties, some members of the public have speculated that the coronation ceremony being held on his son’s birthday is potentially in bad taste and a not-so-subtle dig at Harry and Meghan.

Larcombe disagrees however, saying:

“The people that are seeing this as some kind of deliberate snub to both Harry and Archie are barking up the wrong tree,”

“Anyone who has ever organised a major event – whether that be a wedding or an anniversary \– knows that you’ll never be able to please everyone on the guest list. Someone will always take offence.

“In all honesty, King Charles would have likely been in hotter water with the public if he hadn’t checked that his Coronation wouldn’t clash with the FA Cup Final.”

Buckingham Palace announced the date of the coronation yesterday in a statement that read:

“Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6 May 2023.

“The Coronation ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside the Queen Consort.”
